Job: Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer, Eden Recruitment Ltd

This role provides the opportunity to choose and be involved in team and services development from local to global scales, with flexibility to expand and build on skills in project management, technical delivery and training. In the longer term you will be well placed within the growing business to become involved in team management. You will be expected to manage the technical and financial aspects of projects through from initial quotation to issue of reports, particularly in the areas of geotechnical site investigation/land quality assessment, ground engineering, engineering design (including development associated foundation design), detailed geotechnical assessment, mining assessment, earthworks and reclamation design and management. Candidates are expected to have a BSc in a relevant discipline, preferably Geology, Earth Sciences or Civil Engineering; together with a MSc in related subject or demonstrable alternative experience. Additionally you should have a strong geotechnical background, have the ability to complete factual and interpretative Phase 1 and 2 assessments and undertake geotechnical design; together with a clear understanding of the requirements of developers when developing Brownfield sites. Furthermore you should be proficient in the use of geotechnical assessment packages such as Slide, Slope, WALLOP etc, be familiar with software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, graphing packages), possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and have a full driving licence.
