Job: Nuclear Engineers, Beresford Blake Thomas

Our client provides services to a number of major programmes across the clean-up and decommissioning, generation and defence sectors within the nuclear industry. There are career opportunities for mechanical engineers at various levels of experience, ranging from new graduates through to individuals with a proven track record in the production of engineering/technical deliverables on small to medium sized multidiscipline design projects. Experience in the nuclear industry would be preferable, but is not essential. You will be required to work on technical projects within a team of up to ten engineers involved in mechanical engineering and related disciplines.

The ideal candidates role will include:  Project definition  Preparation of conceptual and scheme designs  Preparation of technical specifications  Liaison with senior managers to ensure technical deliverables are delivered on time and to client requirements  Production and checking of the detailed design deliverables and engineering drawings.

Key requirements needed will be:

 Honours Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline  Chartered MIMechE for more senior positions, or working towards Chartership  Recognised training of software packages i.e. AutoCAD, FE analysis software an advantage together with familiarity with the Microsoft suite of products.  Project engineering experience including design, project management and some site supervision an advantage  You will be driven to meet targets, and have a high level of commercial awareness  Knowledge of remote handling systems preferable but not essential  Knowledge of mechanical building services including pressure vessels an advantage  Due to the nature of work undertaken at our clients' site offices, candidates will need to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance and should therefore be willing to undergo a security vetting process  Candidates will also be required to successfully pass a site medical examination for reasons of health and safety
