They are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, self-starter who is a team player; with excellent written and communications skills, knowledge of contaminated land legislation and guidance with a good understanding and experience of risk assessment models and remediation technologies. Needs to have substantial experience in producing Conceptual Models, designing and managing fieldwork, and preparing reports including generic and detailed quantitative risk assessment on contaminated sites, with emphasis on the assessment of active sites, working on housing/commercial site investigation sector.

Responsibilities

- Produce Preliminary Risk Assessments - Design and cost appropriate site investigations - Carry out Generic Quantitative Risk Assessments for human health and Controlled Waters with little assistance - Carry out Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessments for human health and Controlled Waters with some assistance - Develop outline remedial strategies for sites - Financial control of projects - Client liaison

Qualifications/Skills

- Geoscience-related BSc, MSc - Experience in managing site assessments throughout the project cycle - Familiar with CLR11, CLR10 and Briefing Notes 1 to 4 and their application in risk assessment - Good understanding of basic hydrogeology and its application in risk assessment - Knowledge of UK regulatory framework and guidance is essential - Driving Licence essential - Good written English - Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft products, i.e., Word, Excel, Powerpoint and some risk assessment packages such as Remedial Targets Methodology, CONSIM, RBCA or RISC
