Job: Air Quality Technical Leader, Beresford Blake Thomas

Job Description

The successful candidate will be expected to provide air quality technical services within a leading global multi-disciplinary consultancy. Their duties will include air quality sub-team management, business development, project and programme management, staff development and technical leadership for my clients air quality business from their East Sussex office.

The successful candidate will report to the offices Energy Environment team manager who reports to the Sub-divisional Manager. They will be required to develop air quality assessment skills within the existing team and develop and implement the Air Quality Sub-Team Business Plan.

The position will allow the individual to develop and manage, for example: Air quality impact assessments for large range of different sectors including industrial, buildings and transportation projects; Air quality monitoring programmes (both passive and continuous); Odour assessment; Pollution Prevention and Control (PPC) permit applications and support; Specialist services for energy clients (e.g. emissions modelling, CO2 assessment and carbon footprinting); Project management; Proposal preparation; Sub-team management and staff development; There will be an on-going requirement to be involved with and liaise with other TMU environment teams to co-ordinate all air quality inputs across my clients full portfolio of environmental projects.

Person Specification:

The successful individual will have gained a good first degree in hard science before gaining a higher degree in a relevant subject. They should have extensive relevant postgraduate experience, including in the air quality field, in environmental consultancy, and in team leadership. They should be a Chartered Engineer / Environmentalist and have experience both in the UK and internationally. Essential competencies/skills: Technical Leadership; High standards of written and oral communication and IT skills; Demonstrable experience in undertaking and managing wide range of air quality related projects; Programme Management; Communications and Teamwork; A demonstrable track record in environmental business development Strong client relationship building skills; Personal Effectiveness; Excellent interpersonal skills; Driving licence and willingness to travel, both nationally and internationally.
