Carbon Management Consultants –London Salary:- £30k

Due to increasing demand from our clients a number of opportunities have arisen for Carbon Management Consultants in our clients Offices around the UK.

JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES: • To deliver industrial energy efficiency services to clients leading to a sustainable reduction in energy consumption. • Analyse energy consumption patterns using regression analysis to establish relationships between energy use and production activities (or other drivers). • Conduct energy surveys, audits and process analysis to gather relevant process and energy consumption data. • Develop technical and strategic solutions to energy efficiency issues. This might involve design of heat recovery systems (but not individual items of equipment), selection of boilers, air compressors, refrigeration equipment, meters and measurement systems, monitoring and targeting software. • Set up energy management software at client premises and assisting in the running of energy management programmes. • Become familiar and keep up to date with Climate Change and Emissions Trading legislation. • Provide general technical support to senior members of the team. • Assist senior colleagues with market research and the delivery of project work. • Support the team with business development and sales activities.

KEY PROJECTS/CLIENTS INCLUDE: • Overseas travel is possible but initially most of the work will be UK based.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS: • A Degree in Fuel Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: • Considerable experience of carbon reduction projects in either industry or buildings. • Experience of energy management in an industrial or commercial environment would be useful but is not essential. • A good understanding of climate change issues and the mitigation measures that businesses can carry out to reduce carbon emissions • Applicants will preferably be currently operating as a consultant although candidates from a process or building design engineering background who think they can adapt their knowledge to a consultancy role will be considered. • Strong project management skills. • Strong client interfacing skills and the ability to gain ‘buy in’ from senior managers is desirable. • Good communication skills, a team player and the ability to work to deadlines are all important aspects of the role. • Self-starter capabilities and the ability to work under your own initiative.
