Graduate Geotechnical Engineer – Edinburgh

My client is one of the UK’s leading ground investigation and geotechnical engineering contractors and they are presently seeking a hard working graduate to join their team near Edinburgh. This is an exciting role that offers the successful candidate the opportunity to start a career in an interesting, constantly changing industry with excellent career progression prospects. You will be offered bespoke training designed to equip you with the skills required to manage projects and site investigations.

Qualification – BSc in a relevant subject such as Geology or Earth Science

Experience – Any experience working on site or taking samples of soil and rock would be beneficial

Salary - £16-£19k

Company – UK ground investigation and geotechnical engineering contractor

Duties

• Preparing contract documents as part of the project tendering process.

• Operating drilling rigs whilst on site.

• Taking samples of soil and rock in accordance with BS5930.

• Compiling factual reports.

• Liaising on a regular basis with clients and geotechnical testing laboratories.

• Trial pitting, window sampling and borehole logging.

Typical projects

You will be working on a varied portfolio of projects with sites based across Scotland. The majority of projects my client works on are initial ground investigations for the redevelopment of brownfield sites for housing, commercial and industrial purposes.
