Job: Associate Director – Wastewater Network Engineer, Entec UK

Entec is a major environmental and engineering consultancy with over 800 staff and associates across a national network of offices. Reporting to the Engineering services Regional Director, this role requires a strong track record in: o business development and managing client relations o technical and project direction o team leadership and staff management

You will have engineering consultancy experience in, ideally, both wastewater and clean-water network modelling and solutions. You will need to work with other Product Group staff and members of the Sector Development team, guiding, influencing and partnering with them to penetrate potential growth in the sectors in line with Entec’s overall strategy. Strong influencing and communication skills are essential and you will need to develop a clear understanding of the range of services which Entec promotes. You will need to demonstrate high technical expertise and a high awareness of the absolute necessity for technical quality and customer satisfaction. You will need to be able to coach less senior staff and to review and be technically responsible for the quality of their work. You will also need to demonstrate a successful track record of winning and delivering similar project to time and budget. In addition you will staff manage a multi-discipline networks team of currently 15 people and be able to demonstrate team leadership ability and an understanding of staff management issues and objectives.

You will have a degree in Civil Engineering or similar and some form of relevant secondary technical qualification is preferred. A sound knowledge of relevant technical issues, well established relationships with key client players in the sector and a significant track record of maintaining and developing relationships with relevant customers are essential requirements. You will have successfully managed Networks projects and be familiar with quality requirements. You will also have some previous experience of managing staff.

Appointment will be considered either at Associate Director or Principal level, dependent on experience. All candidates will need to demonstrate that they: are able to self start; are motivated by success; view hurdles as challenges; are effective teamworkers; have well developed interpersonal skills and are commercially aware.
