My client is an environmental consultancy specialising in sustainability, contaminated land and hydrology. They have a considerable presence in the UK and are currently seeking an experienced Contaminated Land Consultant to join their team in Aberdeen. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company that has been consistently growing in recent years and has a large portfolio of upcoming projects to ensure future growth. The ideal candidate for the role will have some consultancy experience in the contaminated land sector combined with a relevant degree. A full UK driving licence is also an essential requirement.
Qualification - BSc in Environmental Science / Geology / Environmental Chemistry
Experience – Proven experience working in the contaminated land sector
Salary - £18-£21k

Duties
• Working closely with senior and principal consultants planning site investigations.
• Mentoring and coaching of junior team members.
• Liaising with clients and contractors on a regular basis ensuring efficient completion of projects.
• Site supervision of intrusive site investigations
• Liaison with analytical laboratories with respect to analysis of samples.
• Interpretation/assessment of chemical analytical/field monitoring results.
• Preparation of factual and interpretative reports for review by the Principal Environmental Scientist.
Typical projects
Site based in Scotland and the North of England involving the supervision of site investigation contractors and collection of base data to assist in the preparation of site reports. Projects will be predominately of a contaminated land nature.
