Geoenvironmental Department Manager- Gloucester

A fantastic opportunity has arisen with this renowned ground engineering consultancy based in Gloucester. This medium sized consultancy specialise in geo-environmental and drilling services but are also involved in geotechnical projects, delivering contaminated land advice and clear-up. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced geotechnical/ geoenvironmental engineer to lead and motivate this established professional team.

Qualification: Having a BSc or MSc in Civil engineering, geotecnhnical engineering, environmental science, geology or similar you will ideally be chartered or working your way towards chartership.

Experience: It is essential that you have proven experience of working in a geotechnical or geo-environmental role previously; preferably within a consultancy. You will ideally have prior project management experience also.

Salary: £40,000

Duties:

Undertaking phase 1 desk studies and site walkovers

Gas and groundwater monitoring and reporting

In situ testing of soil and groundwater

Phase 2 investigations along with logging soil and rock samples in accordance to BS5930

Factual and interpretative report writing

Groundwater risk assessments and human health risk assessments; use of CLEA, P20 and CONSIM

Some geotechnical appraisal work along with foundation design

Project management and mentoring as/ where necessary

Typical Projects:

This ground engineering consultancy are currently involved in a variety of projects ranging from Olympic projects through to small house extensions. They are renowned for innovative use and development of drilling rig technology such as the Pioneer rotary and the P60 Slope Climbing Rig which has become an invaluable tool. This is a genuine opportunity to join this friendly, pioneering team based in Gloucester.
