A vacancy has arisen for an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer in our central Auckland office. With guidance from Senior team members you will be heavily involved with the delivery of projects and the growth of our Geotechnical Engineering team. This will involve a significant technical contribution from yourself and you will be capable of delivering across a range of Geotechnical Engineering projects. Your involvement will include assisting with the:- • Scoping, planning and undertaking of Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental investigations • Scoping associated laboratory testing • Solving Geotechnical Engineering problems • Designing Geotechnical Engineering Solutions • Preparing Site Investigation and other Geotechnical reports • Overseeing the construction phase of projects You will also be required to strengthen existing client relationships and identify new business where appropriate. You will be required to write technical reports and due to the multi discipline nature of our business; you will be required to build strong internal relationships as well as supervise associated field testing staff.

We are seeking a degree qualified Geotechnical Engineer (post graduate qualification is a bonus), with a wide based knowledge of Geotechnical Engineering and testing techniques. We need you not only to have knowledge of soils, but how they behave under differing conditions and we need you to have the ability to use this knowledge to provide the end solution. Ideally you will be close to Chartered status, or capable of achieving that status within 18 months or so. You will be an excellent communicator who is capable of delivering high quality technical reports and you must be able to build strong relationships with clients, other internal disciplines and with your team. You will be recognised as a respected Geotechnical Engineer and will be heading towards your own specialisation.

The above person description describes our perfect applicant; however, we are realistic in our search for our new Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer. We are experienced with recruiting staff from other international locations and will be prepared to assist with relocation where appropriate. Although there is significant local legislation with which to become familiar, we know this will take some time to master. As an employer we are accredited with New Zealand Immigration which, assuming that you pass your medical and can prove you are of good character, will ensure that your application for VISA is fast tracked.
