Our client requires a geotechnical engineer to lead medium scale geotechnical projects and assist on larger projects.

The successful candidate will:

• Carry out geotechnical assessment and design • Design phase I and II investigations including taking client briefs • Develop contracts and specifications • Lead and mentor junior staff • Support the principal geotechnical engineer in bid preparation and tender designs

Requirements:

• A good first degree (2:1 or better in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or Applied Geology)
 • A MSc in Soils Engineering, Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering would be preferable. Personal Track Safety and other Network rail qualifications would also be preferable comme • Experience in a comparable consultant role or senior role with site investigation or civils contractor. • Demonstrable experience in design and delivery of Phase I and Phase II investigations • Knowledge of NHBC standards • Derrivision of design parameters from SI data, design of foundations, retaining walls, basements, remedial earthworks & ground improvement • Expert knowledge of SLOPE/ W, WALLOP, gINT, Pile design & analysis of pile groups, VDISP and related geo software • Willing to take on responsibility and work on your own initiative but within a supportive environment • Willing to take responsibility of project delivery to a range of clients
