Job: Air Modellor and Impact Assessment Consultant, JSM Associates

Our client requires a consultant to join the existing air quality and EIA team. You will be responsible for preparing air impact assessments for both point source and traffic emissions. This will require:

- collating, reviewing and normalising emissions data provided by the client

- use of appropriate screening tools (e.g. H1, DMRB) to identify potentially significant sources

- use of dispersion models (e.g. ADMS3, ADMS Roads) to provide a more detailed assessment, considering multiple sources, building and terrain effects and use of percentiles

- assessing significance and model sensitivity

- report writing including justification of assumptions and approach

- use of graphics and visualisation packages such as Surfer

- communicating key issues to the client and/ or regulator

- management of small project budgets and meeting deadlines

The role may also require the supervision of emissions monitoring work undertaken on behalf of clients and designing and undertaking ambient monitoring surveys for health, nuisance or odour issues.

Training in our clients' procedures and methodologies will be given but the successful candidate should be able to work independently under the supervision of a project director.
