Our client is an internationally renowned Environmental Consultancy with offices throughout the UK and across the globe. Their Central Scotland offices are seeking a Principal Ecologist to develop and expand their business in the region

The successful applicant will be a self starter with both technical and wider strategic experience. He / she would be responsible for developing a new team, working alongside other specialist consultants. You will be managing and undertaking a wide variety of ecological projects, maintaining and developing a diverse client base in Scotland. The role will involve -:

* Directing and managing more junior staff to ensure project objectives are achieved;

* Managing project programmes, resources and budgets to ensure projects are delivered to client requirements and return appropriate financial outcomes for the Company;

* Liaising with and presenting technical information to other professionals and clients;

* Client management and development;

* Effective new and existing business development;

* An astute commercial and practical understanding of business.

Candidates must possess a relevant degree, a minimum of 5 years Consultancy experience in a senior position, along with the following -:

* Sound field skills covering a range of taxa, preferably with specialist knowledge of particular species/species groups;

* Good knowledge of relevant UK and European legislation; demonstrable experience in EcIA/EIA and ecological mitigation projects;

* Sound project management skills;
