They have key specialists in buildings of all types – the performing arts, recording and broadcast studios, stadia, arenas, museums, galleries, religious, education, court houses, council chambers, cinemas, libraries, industrial, laboratories, transportation, offices, residential, retail, hotels, leisure buildings and bridges, to name but a few.
The impact of sound, noise and vibration is not limited to just the buildings alone. Their skills are applied to control of noise and vibration in infrastructure design (road, rail and air) as well as in environmental prediction, assessment and mitigation.
The role they are currently looking to fill includes:
• Consulting and project management of acoustics, noise and vibration projects • Overseeing and contributing to the planning and execution of acoustics, noise and vibration projects • Resolving complex acoustical engineering issues • Summarising data interpretations and providing conclusions • Supervising and co-ordinating the work of others and co-ordinating work with engineers of other disciplines • Providing timely and technically competent input on acoustical matters at meetings, in reports and by other means of communication as appropriate • Managing project team to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines • Financial forecasting and control of projects to ensure that they remain within budget • Responding to enquiries, communicating with clients to establish their needs and drafting fee proposals • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team
Requirements:
• Degree qualified (in acoustics or science based degree) and have achieved professional qualification • Current and extensive experience of acoustics consulting or relevant discipline • Extensive knowledge of the fundamentals of acoustics, noise and vibration, and current codes and standards • Knowledge, experience and practical application of the full range of empirical, analytical and simulation tools for acoustics, noise and vibration • Proven ability in the preparation/presentation of technical reports • Creative, innovative and able to deliver cutting edge solutions within constraints of project budget • Experience of leading teams on multi-disciplinary projects from conception to completion • Able to understand the balance of engineering priorities on differing projects • Able to quickly develop successful client relationships • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines is essential • Excellent planning and organisational skills • Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal) • Able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness
