Job Purpose To contribute to the development of my clients existing acoustics and vibration capability and services and assist with business development and writing proposals. Project work may include: - Environmental Impact Assessment - Strategic Environmental Assessment - Due Diligence - Environmental Management Systems - Environmental Auditing - Sustainability Appraisal - Building Design
Accountabilities Contribution to and supported management of qualitative and quantitative assessments of acoustics (including vibration and monitoring programmes) for a wide range of cross-sector UK and overseas projects from Stage 0 to detailed assessment. Accountable to Senior Acoustic Consultant
Qualifications - Degree in a science discipline; related to acoustics including a component of Environmental Acoustics, etc - Member of a professional body, e.g. Institute of Acoustics (IOA), Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES), Institute of Environmental Impact Assessment (IEMA) advantageous but not essential
Competencies Knowledge Technical applications of acoustics, noise and vibration control - Current acoustics standards, policies and regulations - Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) - Noise and vibration monitoring - Experience - Experience in acoustic consultancy including relevant experience in environmental noise & vibration control - Experience in a Client facing environment - Experience in following or enhancing methodologies for the assessment of noise and vibration (e.g. DMRB, WebTAG, STAG, CRTN, PPG24, BS5228, BS4142, etc.) - Technical Skills/Ability - Understanding of the workings of empirical and computational modelling software for the assessment of environmental noise (e.g. DMRB, SoundPlan, RoadNoise2000, etc.) including model verification and assessment of impact significance - Responsible Project and Financial Management - Technical Report writing and proposal writing - Competencies/Personal Attributes - Developing Self and Others (Level 2) - Team-Working (Level 2) - Delivering Results (Level 2) - Excellent communication skills: Written, Oral and Presentation
