A leading trade association is looking for a professional to join its team of expert advisers. The purpose of the post is to be the organisations technical expert in relation to CO2, climate change, air quality and sustainability. Specific projects include but are not limited to: New Car CO2 legislation, Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership, Emissions related congestion charging, Act on C02, Low Emission Zones and Sustainability reporting. Candidates will need:

- Honours degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline with appropriate industry experience.

- Chartered or corporate status of an appropriate professional body.

- To be able to participate effectively and constructively at meetings and discussions and prepare accurate and concise reports, whilst protecting commercial confidentiality on sensitive issues as appropriate.

- Be a competent organiser, managing the flow of incoming and outgoing information.

- To have a good knowledge of relevant legislation with ability to develop necessary external and internal contacts, to assess implications for industry, and develop appropriate responses.

- To be an effective communicator at all levels, exerting influence and persuasion as required achieving aims and targets in a timely manner.

- A high level of business awareness.

- Good interpersonal skills and ability to form good working relationships with people of varying backgrounds.

Highly motivated

- Have confidence in his/her own knowledge, experience and understanding to be able to command authority in environmental/legal/political discussions, and to communicate effectively and diplomatically with outside contacts and internal staff

- Computer literacy

- To have a willingness to travel, both in the UK and abroad, to attend meetings and conferences.
