Salary: £17500 - £20000

Reporting to the Technical Support Manager, you will support the management of environmental compliance for waste management licensed, PPC permitted sites and water quality/trade effluent consents. You will be required to assist in preparing a range of licence applications, modifications and surrenders, as well as providing help and assistance to business managers in relation to all aspects of environmental control. You will have a basic understanding or experience of current waste management legislation and have the ability to assist in disseminating this information down throughout the business. You will be required to take part in negotiations with the Environment Agency and be expected to liaise effectively with monitoring officers, councils and local stakeholders.

THE PERSON

We are preferably seeking someone with an HNC/HND/BSc in Environmental Science or a related discipline. Ideally you will have some experience of working with waste management licences for a waste operator, a local authority/regulator or equivalent. However, this is not essential as training will be given. fl The successful applicant will possess strong communication and IT skills and be an effective team player.

Applicants should be enthusiastic, self-motivated, organised and able to demonstrate accuracy in administrative and data handling duties.A flexible approach and a commitment to learning is essential.
