To participate or lead in a diverse range of ecological projects, primarily related to Environmental Impact Assessment and mitigation design

MAIN DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES

 Collection and interpretation of survey data  Visit sites to undertake surveys  Production of reports  Management of projects as allocated by the Principal Ecologist  Liaison with clients, consultees and other professionals  Keep abreast of current legislation and technical developments within relevant field PERFORMANCE MEASURES

 Pro-active in relationship building with clients and potential clients  Expected to react to external requests for proposal but also generate opportunities, prepare proposals, and demonstrate appropriate levels of financial and technical awareness  Follow up, negotiate and close proposals. Feedback where unsuccessful and identify proposal weakness.  Feed opportunities as a result of relationships both within business unit and also to other parts of the business. Should be aware of and feed forward re. market opportunities and service development.

Contract / Project Execution

 Initiate projects through appropriate management system / processes; feed into resource plan and communicate client expectations / timescales.  Responsible for delivery of assigned projects. Manage and anticipate client expectation.  Skill base sufficient to work most of the time unsupervised; training required for new areas of activity; supervision of other consultants where appropriate.  Should in general provide right first time deliverables, with approval normally only picking up minor details. Some approval & review of peer deliverables.
