Job: Senior Ecologist, Beresford Blake Thomas

My client, a worldwide multidisciplinary consultancy, is looking for an experienced ecologist to fill a senior position within their consultancy team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional to join our landscape and arboriculture team. This is a newly created position, within an experienced team of ecologists,to meet the growing needs of our clients to provide a complete environmental service.

Applicants should ideally meet the following criteria:

· Substantial experience of applying ecological principles to a range of projects, preferably within an environmental consultancy framework; · Competent Phase 1 habitat surveyor; · Substantial knowledge of ecological survey and evaluation methods as applied to a range of taxa; · Experience of protected species mitigation and legal compliance · Holder of protected species survey and mitigation licences; · Experience of designing, managing and undertaking ecological assessments; · In depth knowledge of environmental law, including the Habitats Regulations, CRoW Act, and Water Framework Directive; · Evidence of client liaison, contract negotiation; · Experience of working with developers on development sites;

You should be able to work on your own ,leading projects but also within multidisciplinary teams advising colleagues. You will be based within the Buckinghamshire office and will be willing to travel to sites to undertake field surveys.

A full driving licence is essential. Computer skills including database, CAD and GIS skills and experience would be advantageous.
