Location: Oxford
Salary: Negotiable, dependant on experience
WSP Environment & Energy is a leading global environmental and energy consultancy. With over 1,100 people worldwide, we deliver commercial and technical excellence to help our clients manage their risks and make sustainable business improvements.
Due to an expanding workload our Energy business has an opportunity for a senior consultant to join their expanding team in Oxford. We are looking for an Engineer to play a key part in the delivery of projects within the team.
The ideal candidate will have experience acting as a project engineer in the construction industry, including design responsibility for mechanical and/or electrical devices and attending client and design meetings. The candidate will have the design knowledge of all major HVAC systems, and be able to summarise and provide an overview of mechanical and/or electrical services.
The successful applicant will assume a senior technical position within our national energy business with responsibilities in the following areas:
- Manage projects and client relationships, and also assist others in the production of their technical reports by reviewing, checking results and providing technical assistance.
- Assist the team of consultants in providing renewable energy solutions, energy strategies and innovative scheme designs by taking into full consideration existing and emerging technologies and sustainable design.
- Work closely with colleagues in delivering a high level of service resulting in clear and demonstrable client satisfaction.
- Understand, explore and expand emerging technologies.
An interest and understanding of renewable and low carbon technologies and the issues associated with the practical application of these to developments (as opposed to utility scale projects) is also required. The successful candidate will be self motivated and enthusiastic, able to work independently and have good communication skills for interaction with other professional team members, the client and internal teams.
At WSP Environmental we pride ourselves on delivering commercially focused and innovative solutions to environment and energy related business issues.
