We are currently seeking an ambitious and dynamic Environmental Consultant to take a leadership role in the development our Environmental Planning team in London.  The successful applicant would join the management team responsible for our highly successful Environmental Planning team in London, maintaining and developing a diverse client base and managing and undertaking a wide variety of projects.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident, self-motivated and dynamic with excellent communication skills and able to work well as part of and lead the technical team.

The role would involve the following;

  • Development and management of an Environmental Planning team.
  • Business Development, Client Liaison and Care.
  • Assisting with Strategic Development Initiatives.
  • Office Management duties.
  • Supporting other WSP Environmental divisions and our sister companies WSP Buildings, Development & Transportation, and Civils.

Key skills should include:

  • Proven experience and strong technical capability gained within a professional consultancy.
  • Good knowledge of relevant UK and European legislation, including Planning, Health & Safety, Contracts.
  • Proven experience in impact assessment, design including major urban design projects, master planning and environmental mitigation projects.
  • Strong project management, time management and resourcing skills.
  •  EIA background experience and skills including excellent verbal and written communication skills.  A commercial and practical understanding of business and public inquiry experience.
  • Business development and client development both regionally and nationally, including fee tendering, scoping and estimating.
