Job: Landfill Site Manager (6 - 12 Months), Allen & York Ltd

Our Client is a large waste management business providing waste collection, disposal services, treatment and recycling, to national customers in a variety of sectors specialising in landfill, power generation and collection of special waste. 

The position is a temporary Landfill Site Manager reporting to the Regional Manager in the Landfill Division of our clients’ waste company. The position is based in the North West of England and the successful site manager will be responsible for all site staff and operatives.

Overall Responsibility:

The landfill manager will be responsible for the cost effective and efficient control of the Landfill Site, whilst adhering to site licences, health and safety legislation, EPA and planning conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implementing the necessary controls to meet and exceed financial targets.

• Ensuring compliance in respect of site licenses/PPC permits, health and safety legislation, EPA and planning conditions.

• Liaising with the controlling bodies, local action groups, and internal and external customers as appropriate, developing and maintaining good levels of relationships and high standards of customer service at all times.

• Developing and maximising business potential on a short, medium and long-term basis including the management of engineering development work in relation to the preparation of future void space, restoration and environmental management.

• Managing the performance of direct reports and that of others through the effective use of existing Company procedures, including performance development reviews and disciplinary and grievance procedures. Review current training requirements and provide ongoing training and development opportunities where required.
