Head of Environment, Morgan Sindall Fit Out Division

An exciting opportunity has arisen without our group of companies for the role of Head of Environment.

Our companies are leading fit out and refurbishment main contractors with a collective turnover of £500m, operating from seven UK locations and employing over 600 people.  We are a significant part of the £2bn Morgan Sindall Group.

Having developed an industry leading environmental approach and created a real desire for change throughout the organisation we are looking for someone to drive our progress to the next level.  The appointed person will be the spokesperson and figurehead for environmental developments within our companies. 

The responsibilities of the position include; managing an experienced team of two, planning workloads, managing budgets, report preparation, regular site visits and time spent in our network of offices.  An important aspect to success in this role is giving direct support to on-site projects and helping the company use environmental experience to assist in securing new work.  The successful candidate will be expected to create and deliver training courses, give staff and client presentations and occasionally to deal with the media. As such you will need excellent communication skills.

You are likely to be charismatic and have an enthusiastic and pragmatic attitude towards improving our environmental performance.We are looking for someone who can demonstrate significant experience in environmental management but it is not essential to come from a construction background.  Experience in some of the following areas will strengthen your application, but knowledge of all is not essential; ISO 14001, environmental legislation, waste management, sustainable timber, sustainable procurement, energy efficiency, BREEAM.  You will have a formal University Environmental qualification.

The position reports to a Board Director and offers a very significant basic salary and excellent bonus structure.
