Background:

Meniscus Systems Ltd is a small but established business providing a unique service to industry and the UK Water industry to help reduce energy, chemical and similar costs by ensuring that their sites are operating as efficiently as possible.

Meniscus has developed a powerful web based software tool that allows users to create all sorts of calculations and to view and display the results over the web. This software is being used on over 250 sites around the UK to help improve energy efficiency and to reduce carbon emissions. Due to increased demand we are looking for an Analyst to assist in monitoring and reporting of site performance.Key skills and abilities:

• Degree in a numerate subject (environmental science, engineering etc) or 3 good A levels in numerate based subjects.

• IT literate. This assumes excellent ability in the ‘standard’ Microsoft packages. Knowledge of SQL Server and databases an advantage.

• Some experience working in industry – ideally in the water and energy sectors

• Experience in any form of programming a real benefit – i.e. Visual Basic, HTML , C#

Key duties:

• Reviewing daily exception reports. Identifying and communicating potential problems to customers. Preparation of weekly and monthly reports

• Setting up new sites on our database and management/modification of existing sites.

• Analysis of data to identify operational problems and potential solutions and to determine potential savings.Being a totally web based system, there is potential for the successful applicant to undertake some work from home. For the same reason this position could suit people wanting to work part time.
