Job: Wind Power Operation and maintenance engineer, Beresford Blake Thomas

Our Client is currently recruiting for an Operations and Maintenance Engineer to be responsible for the operation of two wind farms, located off the UK mainland.

The role will include:

 Monitoring and maintenance of 54 foundation structures

 Monitoring of 90km of submarine and land cables,

 Monitoring of Onshore substation buildings and compounds.

Reporting to the O&M Manager, your main responsibilities will include:-

 The safe and efficient co-ordination of all inspection and maintenance activities in the project, in co-operation with the Wind Turbine O&M Engineer and the project Network Controller / Electrical Engineer.

 Manage programmes of inspection and scheduled service and maintenance

 Appoint and manage consulting engineers / contractors to design or complete maintenance works

 Assist in the planning of scheduled service/maintenance and unscheduled repair work activities.

 Approve method statements for works

 For projects in design or under construction to advise and assist the design and construction teams in optimising the safety, efficiency and operability of the project

The Candidate will demonstrate proven knowledge within maintenance engineering and management, ideally of offshore structures or power stations. The ability to successfully manage budgets, a programme and contracts is essential. Candidates must be safety and efficiency orientated, with proven capability of making confident and reasoned decisions. To maximise flexibility in this role it would also be advantageous, although not essential, that the candidate would be capable of offshore working.
