Our client provides energy sustainability solutions both to business as well as the public sector. Their enviable reputation has been built upon their no nonsense approach and their passion for renewable technologies.
Having won a number of well publicised contracts during 2007 they are looking to build on their success in 2008 by appointing a Renewable Energy Consultant Engineer who will be based in Oxford as well as on site.
Your main responsibilities of this rewarding role will include:
Project feasibility and project development along with technical and commercial support for existing plant
Carrying out feasibility studies for the potential introduction of new power generation/renewable equipment
Understanding of planning and environmental issues associated with renewable plant
Experience in the use of wind project analysis software such as Wind farm, WAsP
Wind resource and energy yield assessment
Identifying potential emissions implications
Helping to maintain a list of potential investments and prioritise identified investment opportunities
Managing investment projects with effective control of project costs, resources and delivery timescales
Ensuring building users understand the costs and benefits associated with investment projects
Evaluating the results of investments
Provision of technical and commercial support to existing plant to help maximise efficiencies
Identifying potential clients, discussing needs and preparing bid documents
Negotiating contractual terms and conditions with prospective clients
Provision of advice on legislative drivers particularly the climate change levy and emission trading scheme
Interact with other members of the Energy Solutions team and external clients at all levels
The ideal candidate will have gained MSc in Renewables or an Energy or Environmental related field and have a keen interest in and detailed knowledge of energy markets and related environmental legislation
An understanding of the implications of the climate change levy and emissions trading scheme
Strong interest in renewable technologies
Experience with the implementation of renewable technology is desirable
Demonstrate an ability to communicate with technical specialists as well as non-technical client representatives
Ability to build and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external clients
Confident, with an ability to assimilate within a team and maintain/develop the business
Ability to work alone or as part of a team
Ability to absorb varied sources of information
Competent in all Microsoft applications
Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
UK security clearance to minimum SC level.
This role will involve visits to client sites and involvement on projects where a minimum level of SC security clearance is required. If not already cleared to SC level therefore, candidates will need to meet certain criteria to attain this.
A valid UK driving license is essential and you will need to be flexible to work on site on occasions, often within a team of analysts and engineers.
