JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The purpose of the role is to effectively manage and deliver projects in the field of contaminated land. Candidates will demonstrate the ability to manage projects within agreed timescales and to budget. Other responsibilities include:
• The ability to mentor more junior employees.
• The responsibility for client care, ensuring projects are delivered and that they meet client needs.
• Support the Consulting Group Manager in the annual budgeting and planning progress.
• To proactively seek business development opportunities and develop these under the guidance of senior managers where appropriate.
KEY PROJECTS/CLIENTS INCLUDE:
The client portfolio will be varied and will span over both the public and private sectors.
More specifically the team is currently delivering projects for developers and house builders.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
• BSc Geological Sciences or a related discipline.
• An MSc in Environmental (Ground Contamination) discipline would be preferable.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability and experience of working on contaminated land projects ideally within a consultancy environment.
• Experience of contaminated land desk studies and site investigations from inception to final interpretative reporting.
• A high level of attention to detail is required, as well as excellent report writing skills.
• Experience of project management (financial, programme, staff and subcontractors) of varied contaminated land studies is essential.
• Knowledge of geotechnical issues and quantitative risk assessments would be an advantage.
• Candidates will also have developed client care skills and business development acumen.
