Our client a leader within the nuclear industry is looking for a Senior Environmental Scientist in the area of Environmental Radioactivity to work within the Environment team in the South East. The role will involve studies addressing radioactive waste management, options assessment (for instance to support BPEO assessment) and regulatory impact assessment. There are also likely to be opportunities to participate in the wider environmental business addressing non-nuclear issues, in particular Pollution Prevention and Control (PPC) related projects.

The candidate must have:

• Appropriate amount of experience of the practical aspects of radioactive waste management and radiological protection principles.

• Experience in Option Assessment or Regulatory Impact Assessment

• A degree in a relevant subject (a higher degree would be desirable)

A general understanding of non-nuclear environmental issues would also be desirable, in particular PPC considerations.

The candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and report writing skills and have experience of successful project management. Proven offer preparation skills would be an advantage.
