Job: Geotechnical / Foundation Engineer, Macdonald & Co

Salary Range:

£35k - £45k, dependant on experience and qualifications

Summary

The vacancy is for a member of our geotechnical team based within the Civil Engineering department in our East Grinstead office.

With at least 5 years post graduate experience the candidate will be chartered or near chartered and have a detailed knowledge of the design of major civil engineering structures and foundations including cut & cover tunnels and deep basement construction.

Responsibilities

The Candidate will be expected to lead and develop teams of Engineers, Graduates and Technicians in preparing geotechnical design solutions for major civil engineering structures for highway and railway schemes at preliminary, tender, and detailed design stages of the project.

Experience

Essential

 At least 5 years relevant post graduate experience with either a contractor or consultant .

 Thorough understanding of geotechnical l design principles

 Sound capability in all major geotechnical analysis packages

 Working with contractors on major Design and Build projects

 Use of Eurocodes and other international design standards

Qualifications

Essential

 Civil Engineering related Degree, BEng level minimum,.

 Chartered, or currently pursuing chartership

Desirable

 MEng level degree

 Clean UK driving licence
