Core Responsibilities:
Interpretation of simple client brief, project scoping, planning and site visits.
To assist in the preparation of basic geoenvironmental/geotechnical bids with particular emphasis on geotechnical requirements.
Implementation and supervision of Ground Investigations
Preparing Factual Reports on the results of Investigations
Assist with geotechnical design – earthworks, foundations, retaining walls, ground improvement
Co-ordination and liaison with geotechnical specialists in the other offices
Delivering projects to clients’ satisfaction.
Knowledge Required:
Minimum 12months experience of geotech engineering, preferably within a development environment with a ground investigation contractor.
Some hands on experience of site investigations.
Some experience of brownfield site regeneration projects
Appreciation of environmental constraints to development.
Qualifications required:
First degree in engineering geology/ civil engineering / geology
Preferably Masters degree in related soil mechanics/geotechnics/environmental skill.
Skills required.
Basic knowledge and use of geotechnical computing programmes for slope stability and logging.
Strong communication skills, basic project management skills. Must have strong report writing skills.
