Job: Temp Environmental Strategy Officer, Beresford Blake Thomas

This local authority are looking for a recently graduated environmental scientist to be the Councils main advisor/advocate and specialist technical officer with regard to environmental sustainability. To initiate, develop, review and update the Councils environmental strategies and polices including Strategic Environmental Assessments and the production of a State of the Environment Report for the Council. To provide high quality, professional advice to Councillors, Chief Officers, external partners/agencies, voluntary and business sectors with regard to biodiversity and environmental sustainability generally and to support and develop creative cross-sector partnerships. To organise and facilitate public consultations, promotional activities, public meetings in connection with the Council’s overall environmental strategy, biodiversity, Local Agenda 21 programme and Community Strategy. To take enquires and concerns on environmental issues from the internal and external parties, including Council officers, Councillors, residents, community groups, schools and the press.
