Job: EHO / Pollution Control - Noise & Nuisance Team, Beresford Blake Thomas

This London borough require an EHO for contract work on an ongoing contract. The role is concerned with Investigations of nuisances and contravention’s arising from noise, smoke, grit, dust, odours, fumes and other pollutants. You will then be responsible for taking of appropriate action under the provisions of the Environmental Protection Act, Clean Air Act, Control of Pollution Act and all associated legislation. You will need experience of preparation of detailed reports in connection with applications from prescribed processes under Part 1 of the Environmental Protection Act, including recommendations for authorisation and subsequent monitoring. You will also be involved in taking statutory action in connection with unauthorised processes.

The post holder would be expected to participate in the out of hours noise service on a rota basis. Surveys, inspections and action to maintain smoke control including calculations on chimney heights and grit and dust. There will also be involvement in the monitoring of drinking water supplies, swimming pool water and other water systems. A clean UK driving license is also required.
