As one of the largest multidisciplinary environmental consultancies in the our Clients employees are given exposure to a wide range of areas including Contaminated Land, Climate Change, Waste, Risk & Asset Management and Compliance & Resource Management.

Their land and Water team are now seeking a consultant to join the existing team based in Shrewsbury. This is a direct result of the previous consultant progressing within the business.

JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role will involve undertaking tasks set by a number of project managers on multiple contaminated land projects. The role will therefore involve providing technical assistance and the management of task budgets.

KEY PROJECTS/CLIENTS INCLUDE:

The client profolio will be varied and speans over both the public and proivate sectors.

Recent projects have included part 2A assessments for local authorities, multiple land quality projects for Defence Estates, developers and other industrial clients.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants are likely to have a degree level qualification or equivalent (in an environmental subject with an emphasis on contaminated land, hydrogeology and hydrology).

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

- Some experience in an environmental consultancy or environmental regulator is preferred.

- Evidence of experience and exposure to the contaminated land sector is necessary. - Experience of site investigation work.

- Some site supervision experience and knowledge of soil and water sampling protocols.

- Applicants will be required to demonstrate technical ability regarding having an understanding of geological/topographical/hydrogeological maps, contamination issues and basic chemistry.

- Report writing skills.

- A current driving license is essential.
