Following the growth of my client's geotechnical and geo-environmental services group by 50% in the last eighteen months, they are now looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their dynamic team.

The candidate we are looking for will be able to demonstrate experience in the design and management of ground investigations, the preparation of thorough and considered geotechnical reports and the provision of geotechnical advice to clients and colleagues.  Additionally, we are looking for an engineer with the ambition to assist in further building the team, the range of expertise offered and the client base.  With their colleagues, he or she will support projects in all our offices, but will be based in the south of England.

My client is a multidisciplinary firm of consulting engineers who work in the public and private sectors.  They work on a diverse range of projects including regeneration, master planning, affordable and private housing, city centre office developments, schools, colleges and hospitals.  Their team provides geotechnical services, both to colleagues and to external clients.  Their contributions to projects include:

Ÿ         Phase 1 desk studies

Ÿ         Design and procurement of Phase 2 intrusive investigations

Ÿ         Preparation of fully comprehensive geotechnical and geo-environmental reports

Ÿ         Foundations options appraisals

Ÿ         Ongoing geotechnical advice during design development

Ÿ         Design of and/or preparation of specifications for earthworks, groundworks, piling, retaining walls, ground improvement

Ÿ         Preparation of AIPs, Regulatory Approvals Documents, validation reports

Ÿ         Review of contractor's submissions and site supervision

Recent projects, which reflect the range of projects typical to the Practice have included Tottenham Court Road and Olympics Relocation Sites.  At Tottenham Court Road, as well as procuring an intrusive ground investigation on a confined site, it was necessary to consider the impact of development on adjacent London Underground infrastructure, and on the future Crossrail project and vice versa.  Consideration was given to differential settlement between existing shallow and new, piled foundations, and piling submissions and testing results commented upon.

Appointed with Heijmans Blackwell Remediation to deliver Olympics Relocation Sites, they have been involved in the preparation of sites for numerous facilities and businesses around the Olympic Park.  These have generally comprised brownfield sites with underground hazards including deep Made Ground and Alluvium, obstructions, major infrastructure and contamination.  They have been responsible for the design of foundations, retaining walls, ground improvement and earthworks, as well as the preparation of validation reports.

My client offers competitive salaries and holiday entitlements together with a pension scheme and health insurance, and are committed to the training and personal development of their staff.  Candidates will work within a friendly, flexible and dynamic offices in the centre of London.
